Walnut Shell media

The walnut shell media is both reusable and biodegradable. All normal sizes are available, including coarse, medium, fine, extra fine, and flour. Walnut Shell Flours are excellent adhesive and compound filler. A walnut shell abrasive is a type of abrasive material made from the shells of walnuts. It is used in various industrial applications for cleaning and polishing surfaces, removing coatings and rust, and for mass finishing operations. The abrasive is known for its gentle yet effective action, making it suitable for delicate surfaces, and also biodegradable, making it an environmentally friendly option.

Abrasive media is most commonly associated with tougher, man-made materials like steel shot or grit, silicon carbide, or aluminum oxide. Certain metal finishing applications, on the other hand, necessitate softer, less abrasive materials that can achieve the desired result without causing harm to the substrate surface.

Crushed black walnut shells are a softer, gentler alternative to these harsher media blasting materials. Walnut shells are lightweight, angular media designed specifically for use in dry air blasting applications. They effectively remove topcoats while leaving undercoating intact.

Prior to the introduction of walnut shell media blasting, metal finishers had to peel coatings down to bare metal and replace the undercoatings and topcoat completely. Walnut shell blasting eliminates the need for these time-consuming and expensive treatments.

Walnut Shell Blasting Grit

The hard fibrous product generated from powdered or crushed walnut shells is known as walnut shell blasting grit. Walnut shell blasting grit is a soft abrasive that is exceptionally resilient, angular, and multi-faceted when used as a blasting medium. To prevent inhalation health problems, walnut shell blasting grit is an excellent replacement for sand (free silica).

Cleaning with walnut shell blasting is especially successful when the surface of the substrate behind its coat of paint, dirt, grease, scale, carbon, and so on must stay intact or otherwise unaffected. As a soft aggregate, walnut shell blasting grit can be used to remove foreign matter or coatings off surfaces without etching, scratching, or marring cleansed regions. Common blast cleaning uses include stripping auto and truck panels, cleaning delicate molds, jewelry polishing, armatures, and electric motors prior to rewinding, deflashing plastics, and watch polishing when used with the correct walnut shell grit blasting machine equipment.

Paint, flash, burrs, and other imperfections are removed by walnut shell blasting grit from plastic and rubber molding, as well as aluminum and zinc die-casting. Walnut shells can be used in place of sand in the removal of paint, and graffiti, and in general cleaning of buildings, bridges, and outdoor statues.
